Senior Backend Engineer

Are you looking for a role that allows you to code solutions from scratch? When you think about fulfilling work, does it include taking a lead role in building a brand new, state-of-the-art, big data computing platform?

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Woosh Air you will have the opportunity to engineer an IoT solution from the ground up that supports a variety of remote sensors in the consumer and commercial space. We’re using AWS to build a fast, secure and reliable data collection and analytics platform that automatically scales to support millions of devices. Our customers interact with our solution via iOS and Android apps, or by calling our APIs.

We’re looking for someone who gets excited about diving deep into the details, creative when faced with complex problems and takes ownership to get the job done. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will be expected to:

  • Design, implement, test, deploy, maintain and improve software based on current and emergent best practices and technologies.
  • Be a hands-on coder who applies best practices for the long term maintainability, and readability of the code case.
  • Mentor and train other team members to increase productivity and company growth.

Requirements include:

  • 5+ years progressive experience delivering scalable, high quality software.
  • Experience building cloud-based applications using Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java or C++.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented design patterns and principles.
  • Comprehension of common data structures and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of unit, integration/end-to-end testing and continuous deployment.
  • Proficiency with source control (git).
  • BSc/MSc in Computer Engineering/Computer Science.

Nice to have experience:

  • One or more of the following AWS technologies: IAM, CloudFormation, IoT, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch, RedShift, QuickSight, API Gateway, Cognito, Amplify.
  • Designing and delivering complex, large scale systems.
  • Building Internet-of-Things solutions.

Backend Engineer

Are you looking for the opportunity to reach the next level in your career? MVP requirements include:

  • Experience building cloud-based applications using Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Node.js and Java.

D2C Marketing Specialist

Do you live and breathe direct to consumer marketing? Are you looking to be a part of a fast growing brand where you can have a major impact?

As a D2C Marketing Specialist at Woosh Air you will enhance, grow, and report on marketing channels while learning how to better engage with our subscriber base. Finding solutions for decreasing churn and increasing LTV will be key components of this role.

We’re looking for someone who gets excited about diving deep into the details, creative when faced with complex problems and takes ownership to get the job done. As a D2C Marketing Specialist you will be expected to:

  • Analyze KPI metrics for marketing channel activity and make strategic recommendations to improve performance.
  • Assist in development and execution of marketing campaigns in coordination with company goals.
  • Identify and propose plans for capitalizing on strategic opportunities.
  • Communicate performance of marketing campaigns and subscriber base growth to relevant divisions.
  • Write headlines, support copy, promotional language and propose media for ad and marketing campaigns.
  • Mentor and train other team members to increase productivity and company growth.

Requirements include:

  • Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing channels
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in direct-to-consumer marketing (direct response or ecommerce marketing expertise heavily preferred)
  • Constant learning mindset and ability to adapt to challenges.

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, advertising, or communications.

Prototype Technician

Do you methodically tinker and experiment to see how things work? Are you a builder? Do you derive satisfaction from discovering a solution to a problem and then implementing its solution? Do you thrive in an environment that allows you to modify, drill, break, glue, tape, saw, solder or 3D print your way to the answer?

As a Prototype Technician at Woosh you’ll play a critical role in solving real world engineering challenges. We iterate quickly and build custom equipment to evaluate our ideas. Our products are great because we aren’t afraid to prototype and try crazy ideas.

We’re looking for someone who asks “why?” and then figures out the “how”. You will:

  • Solder and assembly prototype hardware.
  • Propose, execute and evaluate experiments to solve real world engineering problems.
  • Build equipment to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Analyze large datasets to determine trends or the effects of product change.

We are disrupting industries with solutions that require non-traditional thinking. Successful engineers at Woosh are always learning, self-starting and tenacious.

MVP requirements include:

  • Experience building electric circuits, including soldering and interfacing with microcontroller development boards such as the RaspberryPi.
  • Experience with a high level programming language such as Python.
  • Basic understanding of radio communications theory.
  • Experience reading and understanding datasheets for electrical components.
  • Technical diploma/degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have experience:

  • Experience with logic/protocol analyzers.
  • Experience with wireless protocols such as BlueTooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with AWS, particularly DynamoDB.
