How long do filters last?
We understand the importance of knowing how long a product will last, especially when it comes to maintaining a clean and healthy environment in your home. The longevity of our filters is influenced by a variety of factors:
- Size of Your Home: Larger homes may require the filter to work harder, potentially reducing its lifespan.
- Outdoor Weather: Poor outdoor air quality can bring in more contaminants, affecting the filter's capacity.
- Presence of Pets and Kids: Homes with pets and children might experience a quicker buildup of dirt, dust, and allergens.

However, from our experience and the feedback we've gathered, we're pleased to share that most of our users typically achieve a filter lifespan of greater than 3 months. But it's important to note that individual experiences may differ, and we recommend checking the filter status regularly to ensure optimal performance.
How do you determine filter life?
The smart air filter has a variety of sensors including differential air pressure, temperature and humidity. These measurements are used by our proprietary algorithm to estimate remaining filter life.
At what percentage should I replace the filter?
The ideal percentage at which to replace your filter largely depends on your personal comfort level. Changing your filter before it's fully used up can enhance the airflow in your HVAC system, reduce energy consumption, and improve overall filter efficiency. At Woosh, we strive to balance these benefits with the cost implications of switching to a new filter. Many of our users opt to replace their filters when about 20% of filter life remains, while others wait until the filter reaches 0%. We recommend monitoring your filter's performance and making a replacement decision that best aligns with your comfort and preferences.
What are the filters made of?
Our filters are crafted using advanced 3M Filtration Technology. The proprietary 3M filter media, which is the core component of our filters, is produced right here in the United States. How do I properly install my filter?

How do I check the current percentage of filter life remaining?
Checking the remaining life of your filter is easy with the Woosh app:
- Open the Woosh app on your device.
- Navigate to the "Filter" tab using the menu located at the bottom of the screen.
- If you have multiple filters installed, select the desired filter from the dropdown menu.
- Once selected, the app will display the current filter life percentage, helping you decide when it's time for a replacement.
With the Woosh app, you can always stay informed about the condition of your filter, ensuring you maintain a healthy living environment.
How do I properly dispose of my used filter?
Disposing of our filters is a straightforward process:
- After removal, fold up the filter to contain the accumulated dirt and debris.
- Place the folded filter inside your regular trash bin.
While Woosh filters are not currently recyclable, we're excited to share that adding recyclability to our filters is on our product roadmap. We're continuously working towards more sustainable solutions for our customers.

What is the 'Gateway'?
The Gateway is a battery powered (AA x 2) device required to connect the Smart Air Filter to your WiFi network. Its slim form factor and mounting magnets allow it to stick it to any steel surface.
How long do the batteries last?
The Smart Air Filter uses 2 AAA batteries. We recommend alkaline.
The Gateway uses 2 AA batteries. We recommend lithium.
Battery life is expected to be at least 1 year.
Where is my air filter located?
The location of your air filter can vary based on the design and setup of your HVAC system. Typically, in most residential HVAC systems:
- Furnace Systems: If you have a furnace, the filter is usually located inside the blower compartment. It can be accessed by removing the furnace door or panel.
- Air Conditioning Units: For standalone air conditioning units, the filter is often located in the return air duct or blower compartment. This is typically near where the cool air enters the unit.
- Ceiling, Wall or Floor Returns: In some homes, especially those with centralized HVAC systems, the filter might be located behind a return air grille on the wall or ceiling.

Woosh is designed with compatibility in mind. Currently, our air quality monitor seamlessly integrates with the following Sensi, Nest, Honeywell (select models), and ecobee smart thermostats. For Honeywell Smart Thermostats, Woosh supports the T-Series and Lyric Round thermostats. We're continually working to expand our compatibility range, with more integrations on the horizon. Our aim is to ensure that Woosh can be a part of as many smart home ecosystems as possible, providing you with the best air quality monitoring experience regardless of your chosen smart thermostat brand.

How do I delete my account?
To delete your account use the "Delete My Account" feature on the "Account" tab inside the Woosh Air app. Alternatively, you can email support@wooshair.com with your request.
